I Need To Blog But...

right now I am fighting a cold bug and not in the mood. BUT, I do want you to watch this commercial that has been running locally in my area (and several other cities). This is madness and coonery at it's best.

Let me know what you think of this foolishness being aimed at OUR people:

Barbara Walter's 10 Fascinating People

On 12/4/08, Babs Walters will announce her 10 Most Fascinating People for 2008 as she does each year during a television special on ABC.

Wanna see who made the list?

10. Will Smith
9. Tom Cruise
8. Tina Fey
7. Rush Limbaugh
6. Miley Cyrus
5. Michael Phelps
4. Sarah Palin
3. Frank Langella
2. Thomas Beatie (pregnant "man")
1. Barack OBAMA!

Not too much into lists like these which are very calculated and far from what us "norms" think but I certainly agree with #1. Also, I also think that Will, Tina, Sarah (even though I despise this woman, she was "fascinating" I guess), and Michael Phelps should be on the list as well.

Women, Clean Your Cooch & Get To Know It

Wow. When I watched this, I was co-signing with what LaVerne said. This is the truth and needs to be told to the masses. Preach girl. And school 'em for the ones that have no clue about their bodies or what is going on with them.

You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!

It wouldn't truly feel like Christmas without viewing the modern day holiday classic, A Christmas Story. I watch it every damn year and still laugh at the same parts. I guess that is the nerd in me. Fave scene? When Ralphie's friend got his toungue stuck on the flagpole. Gotta love it!

Rihanna feat Justin Timberlake- REHAB

OMG! I finally found a embedded version of Rihanna's new vid Rehab, it premiered on Monday and it's been quite difficult to get an embed version for me to post. It is like my song of the moment, I can so relate. I think that is why I like it so much. And it features my white dream crush Justin Timberlake, oh the warm and tingly and fuzzy feeling is coming back each time I watch this. And is it me or does it kinda sound like a remix of 'What Goes Around Comes Around' by J.T.? It's kinda mellow like that.

Anyway, peep the vid if you haven't already. Rihanna looks hot as always and at least this time there is eye candy for me as well.

I Give In- Beyonce on SNL w/ Justin Timberlake

...dance biscuit skit. Cute. Bee is still kinda stiff but she was fun, esp. at the end. Justin rocked. Loved it. I know I am late but whatev. I might as well jump on the bandwagon too.

Sunday Dinner

So I spent today, Sunday watching Food Network (in between football of course) for dinner ideas and I came across an interesting recipe that I thought I would try from the show Down Home with the Neely's. The recipe was called Grandma Neely's Fried Pork Chop Vegetable Soup and I went to the grocery store specifically to purchase items for the meal.

Let me tell you that it was better than my expectations. Not only was it yummy, both of my children liked it and had seconds, it's very hard for me to find new meals that they like to eat. Anyway, if you are interested in the recipe, click HERE for the details. The Neely's are no joke---kudos to them for sharing their family recipe to the masses. Happy eating!

The Chef Jeff Project

I was looking something to watch on TV the other day when I came across a show on the Food Network called The Chef Jeff Project. The premise of the show was quite interesting. Jeff Henderson, now a Chef with his own catering company, takes six at-risk young adults and teaches them the trade of cooking while trying to keep them off the streets and on the straight and narrow. Jeff himself was incarcerated when he was 24 on a drug charge and spent several years in the pen. While incarcerated, he learned to cook and developed a passion for thr culinary arts, and once released, he worked his way up and became the Executive Chef at Las Vegas's premiere hotel, the Bellagio.

The episode I watched was so touching, because Jeff took his six students to his home in Las Vegas where he was having a birthday party for his grandmother with his family and he showed so much emotion for his family and the students were all choked up. It's good to see that not every foray that involves  Blacks in reality television is not coonery. Please check out the show yourself. Sundays at 10pm EST. For more info on The Chef Jeff project, click HERE.

BTW, the students who complete his project will win a full scholarship to the Culinary Arts Institute. NICE!
